Britney Spears Britney Spears is hoppin' mad ("hoppin'" is her main form of anger since the knee injury). She's mad that newspapers worldwide have printed this pic, claiming she's swiggin' a mini-bottle of whiskey right in front of the liquor store.

Britney says it's ginseng, and wants the papers to print retractions and apologize. I've actually seen those little ginseng bottles with the green labels in the health food store--believe Britney on this one.

Britney Spears is busy planning a two million dollar wedding that'll happen November 20th at the Beverly Hills Hotel, according to the London Sun.

Will Smith has had some big July openings in the past (Independence Day, Men In Black). His latest, I, Robot has debuted even bigger, topping the box office with $52.2 million over the weekend.

New wrinkle: American Idol has changed up its age restrictions for next season. The maximum age for aspiring Idols has been raised to 28. Nationwide auditions will hit eight cities, beginning August 4th in Cleveland.

Usher's had three number one hits this year--the first time anybody's topped the charts that many times in one year since Mariah Carey in 1991.

Jessica Simpson says this'll be the last season of Newlyweds. She points out her and Nick have been married for two years now--so they're not newlyweds anymore. (Is Jessica actually starting to make sense?)

Ashlee Simpson has a new gig. She'll appear in an advertising campaign for Candies.

The band U2 lost a CD-R during a photo shoot last week with several songs from its upcoming album burned on it. The group's worried someone's gonna distribute it on the Internet. (They should be!)

The Travel Diary of Alicia Keys: The New York Daily News has signed singer Alicia Keys as a travel correspondent. Keys will write about the cities she visited on her recent world tour. Check out her first column here.

Sales of Janet Jackson's Damita Jo have been low--not even a million copies since its March release. So it's gonna be re-released soon with six new tracks to try and goose sales. I'd say, "Put her boob on the cover… but we've already seen that!"

Ludacris--in puppet form--will guest star on the season premiere of Crank Yankers tomorrow night. Luda pranks his boss at his record label.

John Mayer performs tonight on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
